Everything is Beautiful - DANA
A collection of much loved, easy-listening songs imbued with optimism and hope that will lift your heart and your spirit. The title track “Everything is Beautiful” holds happy memories for Dana of when she recorded it with the famous St Winifred’s Catholic School Choir from Stockport, Manchester. “One Day at a time” with its laid back country gospel feel, is a personal favourite of Dana’s, because of its uplifting message of hope. There’s beloved gospel favourites Dana has always wanted to sing, like “The Old Rugged Cross”, “I saw the Light” and “He’s got the whole world in His hands” to more contemporary standards like, “The Long and Winding Road”, “When a child is born “and He ain’t heavy… he’s my brother” a worldwide hit for The Hollies, a group Dana worked with when she first became a professional singer. It was a joy recording this CD, especially being able to include songs Dana had sung from childhood such as, “Whispering Hope”, The Jimmy Brown Song”, “At the end of the day” and “Mary’s boy child”.
A special bonus is the inclusion of Dana’s first recording of “Totus Tuus (Totally Yours)” the song inspired by Pope John Paul ll’s motto and written by Dana and her husband Damien just after the late Pope’s visit to Ireland in 1979. Totus Tuus was an immediate number one hit in Ireland, reflecting the positive impact of the late pontiff’s visit.
